*** Rest of Regular Season Summaries

June 13th, 2017

These are the summaries that were sent in for the rest of the season.  With many rainouts and changes this is what was put together. Go WTLL!

Seth S started his first game as a LL pitcher and did very well, pitching 3 innings. Chapman only trailed 2-1 after two innings, but the 3rd inning was a tough one for Chapman's. I believe we committed 4 errors and Legion was able to break the game open. Jesse Miliani also saw his first action on the mound of the season. Finally, 9 yr old Cullen Sheridan finished the game on the mound for Chapman's and closed the door for them.

Offensively, not much went right for Chapman. I believe Ethan Kahl might of had our only base hit. Carmen Centro played a very strong defensive game at SS and Seth S made a terrific play at 1st base in the game.

Colin Skermont pitched and struck out 13 in 5 2/3 innings. Aidan Green came in and closed. Colin Skermont had two home runs. Nick Polnak, Tyler Jarvis and Nick Weherle all had big hits for Stewarts.

Hannaford and WFD faced off in the makeup game of the mid-season playoffs in the 3 and 4 seed game that was rained out a couple weeks ago. The close seeding was accurate as the fans were treated to a close game where the final score ended up 4-3 with WFD pulling out the victory by scoring 2 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning. WFD used 4 different pitchers and got some timely hits and ground outs to drive in runs. Noah Chapman and Kyler Meier both had multiple hits to lead WFD at the plate. Hannaford saw Logan Lachaze pitch a complete game throwing under 65 pitches which is amazing feat in Little League. He threw strikes, and his team made plays behind him to keep Hannaford in position to grab a win. Logan also had two hits to lead Hannaford at the plate and Tyler Thorngren had a single as well.

Spencer Cater Earned the win with a great pitching performance. Memphis Ferguson made his pitching debut with many more ahead of him for the future. DH hit a home run deep into the trees in right center. Nico Lupia had 2 hits, Jackson Kaye, Troy Brabant, and Noah Clausen all added hits, and Ethan McCaw got his first Little League hit with a line drive up the middle.

There were a couple of party’s that were celebrated during this Saturday's game between WFD and Chapman. First, a loud ovation was heard when a Happy 9th Birthday was wished to Jack Burke over the PA system as he approached the plate for his first at bat. Then immediately thereafter, Jack and fellow teammate Kevin George had their own coming out party with Jack going 2 for 2 with a double to the Left Center field gap and a single to Right Center while Kevin laced a ball through the right side for a single of his own. Their WFD teammates followed their lead with Cannon Chapman, Tyler Stivali, Noah Chapman, Devin Trevisani and Ty Montrose all having multi-hit games. WFD used 3 different pitchers with Tristan Matthews coming in to close out the game on the mound. Carmen Centro, who had two hits, seemed to be everywhere on the field stealing hits and almost turning a couple of double plays. Cullen Sheridan and Ethan Kahl both had hard hits in the game for Chapman as well. WFD wants to thank the Stivali Family for preparing what was being talked about as the best special of the year. The Walk off Taco. We hope you ordered one early, if not you probably missed out on a great ball park treat.
